The Carers Seminar
A one-day Carers seminar for people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) and Cortical Basal Syndrome (CBS) conditions, for the carer and any other interested members of the community.  This day will provide an insight into these conditions as well as practical advice and strategies for carers and individuals.  For more information: The Carers Seminar Flyer and rego form


Webinar

PSP Australia hosted its first webinar on Wednesday, 3rd April at the Parkinson's Victoria office.  The topic was "Reduced Unneeded Negativity for Caregivers". Members who atended found the topic very helpful and left feeling better equipped.

Support groups
The PSP Australia Support Group meets bi-monthly in Cheltenham, Victoria. Our meetings comprise informal information sharing and socialisation as well as presentations by professionals. For information about upcoming meetings or to subscribe to the regular newsletter, contact Parkinson's Victoria on (03) 9581 8700

The next PSP Carers Lunch will be on Monday, 7th May at 12noon. Venue is South Oakleigh Club, 1 Victor Road South Oakleigh


Our 2012 meeting dates are held on the 1st Thursday of every 2nd month

Parkinson's support groups also welcome people with PSP and their families and carers. These operate in metropolitan and country areas across Australia and provide a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment where people can meet to share their feelings and experiences and learn from others. Parkinson's Australia can put you in touch with a support group in your area.


Fundraising

PSP Australia held a fundraising Raffle for Research in December 2011.  Over 700 tickets were sold and $1,780.00 raised.  The raffle was drawn at Parkinson's Victoria office, 8b Park Road on 16/12/11 and winners notified by phone and results published in the Hearld Sun Classfieds.  Thank you to all PSP members, family and friends who supported this much needed PSP Raffle for Research.

 

Pat a Paca for PSP

Everyone is welcome to drop into Freshfield Aplaca Farm for a "cuppa" to help raise awareness of PSP.  Freshfield Aplaca Farm is holding an Open Day for the Public to help raise awareness fo PSP.  We are inviting you to come and support the day and enjoy a "cuppa" and cake and enjoy the Aplacas and other animals on the farm.  A sausage sizzle will be part of the fundraising, there will be spinning demonstrations and photo opportunities with the Aplacas.  A raffle will be drawn at 3.00pm on the day.
